Sunday session 6.12.15

Hello and welcome to my week in snippet form. snippet is defined as a small piece of something”  … But you knew that surely? ;P

Lady Darwin insta

Someone asked me this week why I share “snippets of life” on my instagram.  It’s my instagram I share what I want- end of story go away.

Someone asked me if I could share in their wedding by styling their reception next dry season … I happily agreed. Still can’t believe people pay me for this stuff? I spent a few hours researching silk flowers in china for this job so that I can deliver the beautiful floral display that she has requested on budget.

Someone asked me to pick their new home colours. Yeah ok so this is a regular occurrence in my life but this time I am mentioning it cos I did it as a love job for a young couple who are having a tough time. Yay me. Even more yay for them and their funky new home, all the best guys! x

I received mail from a family member I haven’t heard from in ages and I lay in bed reading the long letter instead of getting up at 5:30am for the 9th consecutive day to start working on plans that I should have finished 2 days previously.

I met a total of 5 potential new clients this week and of those 5 I was excited by 4 of the potential jobs. 1 of those (you guessed it, the crappy one I don’t particularly like) I will pass on to another person in the industry who I know will want the work and is more suited to this style of renovation.

ONE of those potential jobs I am extremely excited by… as it involves vintage and wine – Yes my two favourite things it is meant to be. 😀

I did a totally not-my-style-at-all reception area for a hip new office building and made a new friend (fellow vino sipper) while I was at it. I will ask her if I can share some pics of the new space with you later.

Someone called me ‘snooty’ Snobbishly aloof; haughty, High-class; exclusive. Aloof, snobbish; condescending, Conceited or arrogant.(inset shocked emoji), or rather they told someone who I know that I am “snooty’ and this person hastily reported back to me. I am NOT snooty. As I type this I am sitting in my $12 blow up pool in my garden with my laptop balanced on the edge (and half likely to fall in at any moment) sipping a $16 dollar bottle of rose… Nothing snooty about that. I drive a damn Terios for christs sake?! My work also is not snooty. I do all sorts for ALL budgets so if you are unsure of what I do please just ask don’t assume. Smack talkers.

Ok work stuff aside I found some cool things to share:

This Peruvian textile artist and her work – Pretty stuff. I can’t sew so I am always impressed by people who do needle work. Here’s her blog.

This Montreal row home owned by the owners of an equally cool design firm. Mark & Vivi. When I convince my tradie fella to work along side me one day we will have a design and construct from similar to this.

These gorgeously sexy wall papers caught my attention, I am sourcing some stuff for a Brissy bar project I am working on. So many goodies to choose from here.

Annd finally I read this interview with the dude from Nest Architects. A good read plus this guy has a cool kitchen of his own. Not as awesome as my new kitchen I might add but we can’t all achieve industrial vintage perfection.
