Sunday session 31.8.14

I am a little light on for design news this week as I have been so busy at the commercial firm I work for that I’ve had little time for any of my own projects, and what time I have had I’ve spent at the beach with my fella and dog or drinking wine. In fact my desk at home has a thin layer of dust across the top with tiny crystal beads scattered everywhere from something I started and failed to finish so it lays in wait.

From Amara- a website full of lovely gifts, homewares and artsy gorgeous things to help separate you from your money...quite alot of it.

Like these? would you pay $894 for one? Of course the one i was instantly drawn to is the Robert Cavalli rose cup…Not surprisingly I picked the most expensive of them all. Seriously is this a typo? who buys these things??!

These are from the same website (Amara) and I think are pretty damn cute…better priced too I might add

A friend and fellow Designer introduced me to this interesting website  and I am trying not to look at it anymore. Amongst the lovely things I came across these teacups with a not so lovely price. If you have a client who pays $850 for a teacup I want to hear about it, I can’t quite get my head around it- thats a weeks holiday on a tropical island to me.

Somewhere along the line this week I also found these inspiring spaces:

white, tribal, homely, abit ethnic with the rough finishes and the cane basket that I assume is a pendant light. The touches of glass adding abit of sophistication to the beachy whitewashed floors. Can you tell how much I love this space? i love it alot

I ADORE black wall, witht herose coloured couch and a touch of timber in the doorframe. Crystal chandelier? yes I’ll take 2 please. Back to the black though- how good is it? Love it! Must be a left over from my gothic teenage years. This is classier than I was then and I’m thinking of painting a wall in my house black now. My fella teases me and calls me Mortisha Adams every time I bring it up but I don’t care, he will get used to it.

This very grown up bedroom appeals to me, i think its the texture that draws me in. I usually hate beige and cream but in this coastal, bohemian almost room with the denim blue I think it works really well. I found this image on Amber interiors, a blog I read every now and then and she seems to have a style very similar to mine.

Another black wall ok, yes I like them. I cant remember where I found this image but I saved it as you dont often see shades of brown teamed with blue and grey that actually looks good. Well done to whoever styled this, it works and I’m surprised.
I am not sure yet what i am going to use these for but I will for SOMETHING you just wait and see! Love them

Despite the fact that you can barely FIT on my sofa for cushions I bought these this week. I tell myself they are for outside where there is still room but we will se where they end up.

And that’s all I’ve really looked at this week aside from these cute ass little pendant lights and cushions … I have a very busy week coming up so will have lots to share later in the week, maybe even before next Sunday- isn’t that ambitious of me. confessions-of-a-designer-draw-logo-Anneke-Short2401
