Sunday session 3.5.15

Well hello miss May- that happened rather quickly didn’t it?

May day festivities

I love May day celebrations, May to me means spring -even though I live back in a place that has no spring and only 2 seasons – wet and dry. Flowers in all the colours of the rainbow (good colour inspo), picnic’s and sitting on the grass which is always a welcome reminder that we are children of the universe, My family is Latvian so May day would have been celebrated many years ago with festivals and dancing, drinking and  feasting …. All my favourite things! So I find it such a happy time of year.

I have been working on a nursery this week for a client so flowers and nature has been a great inspiration for my colour palette. Soft lilac and sorbet yellow upholstery, mint green walls and white furniture were my selected colours this time (my client is unsure of they are having a boy or a girl) and it has come together nicely.

I have also had an exterior colour consultation to do, another new build kitchen concept and an outdoor area project to start… on top of trying to find a good house to buy in Cairns still (and by ‘good’ I mean ‘just ok and on a good size block’ as we are over house hunting already so the standards have dropped), do some of my own kitchen reno stuff and pick a wedding venue (As IF that happened- it is really hard!) so it’s been a busy long weekend and if I’m honest…none of my own jobs around the house actually got done and the floor hasn’t been swept in a week… I have a ‘to do’ list in my dairy that spans 2 full pages now.

Aside from work this weekend I also I read some stuff…random stuff, stuff I like. Such as about Cambodia’s abandoned villas Infact I have been here – right on this very beach where one of these photos was taken and it is a lovely area.

Also about the Milan furniture fair that I mentioned 2 sunday sessions ago and then forgot to come back too, so here’s a brief wrap up and here’s some more Milan ‘best of”. Now somewhere in one of these posts someone posed a good question Why do we keep looking to Europe in the first place?” Yes indeed. Well, personally I don’t – I look to Asia for my design inspiration as those guys are busy little bees and the climate (and architecture) is more similar to little Darwin so get with the program people – Asia’s where it’s at!

Plus I came across these amazing recycled timber ‘Hives’ which I have now decided I need for my home office- check em out here, you will be impressed.

And of course I did some home tour browsing (cos I love to sticky beak into other peoples homes)…This one in Capri caught my eye as anyone who knows me well knows that I will one day live in Italy.

As well as this gorgeous treasure filled eclectic Spanish home. Spain is another place I could happily pack up and move my life to0, as long as the fella and the family came with me.
