Sunday session 23.3.14

Heres a stunning home to get your weekend relaxing and daydreaming underway, or if you are like me you need no assistance with these things.  The woven chairs are by one of my favourite designers of outdoor furniture Kenneth Cobonpue.

Take a look at this artwork I found this week- it is made from trash apparently and I quite like it, it appeals to me in some wacked out way. This guy called Donald makes it and is fairly famous for it as you can read all about here

I read an article earlier this week on the  beauty of Malaysian architecture and it got me to researching it abit more, probably because Malaysia is one of the most enchanting places that I have been to and I cant wait to go again one day as the street food and the memory of fresh roti chenai wafting through the humid streets still haunts my hungry thoughts .

This kitchen is in a Langkawi home that I came across while searching malaysian homes

I like the use of simple materials such as concrete but used on a grand scale, the climate in Malaysia is very similar to here in Darwin so a lot of the homes there could just as easily be created here. Read more about the above home at Habitus here.
Completely off topic here is a commercial fit out of a Melbourne office that also grabbed my attention this week becuase of its quirky use of home style furnishings:  See more here.

Remember the other day I mentioned I am finally doing something about the kitchen and had a guy come to look at it to quote? Well you will never guess who I came across today while looking up troppo design homes- him! Looky here
