Sunday session 15.11.15

Things that I have had going on this week. Work, Love, wine, the beach. Nothing new there. I did not win the 35 OR the 70 million lottery and I am guessing neither did you otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this blog on your couch you would be elsewhere spending up … big.

I have had frustration at not completing 2 clients projects and for not having enough hours in the day to do the things that I want to achieve within my little business as well as keeping up with working for other people and keeping on top of my household. Frustration at myself for letting other peoples ideas get in the way of Lady Darwin stuff as well as for temporarily allowing myself to question whether my business was a significant part of my life. It is, and one that I am ever thankful for. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.” I realise now that I should only be WHOLLY invested in myself (business wise) and that everything else is just a side note, an added bonus if you like. Noone else put’s my business first other than me so I need to keep on at it and that is just how the universe should be unfolding right now.

I have had no new build jobs to do for builders this week (Yes HOORAY!), I have had a fun furniture project on the go and I have eagerly been awaiting a cabinet maker to install the last piece of my kitchen jigsaw puzzle. He had better turn out to be good because I am starting to doubt it and we have a massive language barrier so I’m not sure he understands anymore than 20% of what I ask for.

I picked some colours for some people and some lounges for another and really that is about it. I read this and I liked it, I am all about keeping things simple this month.

Kitchen renos all round lately. This one using Polytec ravine embossed wood which I also used in my own kitchen pantry area Slate with wood panelling created this timeless look in this brand new apartment. A marble table and pair of vintage whitewashed armchairs adds to the classical styling here

I have specified this beautiful King piece for a client residing in the most amazing penthouse with panorama views. A pair of these will fill the space nicely without detracting from the views.
Creating cosy liveable spaces that reflect the personality of the inhabitants is my favourite pass time

Vibrant colour has been popular this month…or maybe I am just projecting my own colour obsession on to my clients
Bedroom styling mixed with art sourcing. Art can add so much to a space yet most of my clients overlook the importance of art

Aside from the work I have done,  this is what is inspiring me this week… East point beach and this little strip of coast that I have been coming to for as long as I can remember, It is part of who I am and I will never tire of walking along the sand admiring the ever changing sky-over-sea colours here or photographing these beautiful whirls and colours of the rocks. The fallen cliffs and rock pools have me obsessed with rust, ochre and mustard colours at the moment with a backdrop of sky blue.
