I have a man coming to look at my kitchen in a minute, or 10 to be precise as I am finally progressing with my kitchen reno that started (purely in idea form) about 3 years ago when I bought this place. Instead of finishing off my scribbly hand drawn plans I started around that long ago I am sitting on the patio, wine in hand sifting through google images of various kitchen styles, JUST IN CASE there is something I have missed that might suddenly change my mind about the style I want. Yes I am a sucker who spends her days breezily selecting things for clients, planning and designing entire new build homes with precise attention to detail- Yet I cant decide even after 3 full years of living in my tiny house what to do with my own brown horrid dark and dingy little dungeon of a kitchen. Anyway moving on from that I have compiled the above selection of images in the space of about 4 minutes just to see if what appeals to me on a whim will match what years of research suggests, and it has. Turns out I favour industrial edginess teamed with prettiness: The starkness of black and stainless steel,  raw surfaces and sweet embellishments. Bricks (which I just so happen to have in abundance), with white and big arse lights. Not really ‘ out of the ordinary’ stuff in the big scheme of things but i am fussy about workmanship and I can be bossy. This guy doesn’t know what he’s in for with PROCRASTINTOR NUMERO UNO right here! Hope he’s as good as he seems to be. As far as I know he doesn’t usually do kitchen he’s more into custom stainless steel fabrication and I like the thrill of the  unknown so what the hell, he will do if he is willing to take on what I want. will keep you posted on that.

This is only the 2nd time I have had the kitchen professionally viewed and measured (by an actual cabinet maker/ joiner I mean- me standing in the middle vaguely staring while clutching a glass of wine doesn’t count) so it’s an exciting day. Best put the wine away and go wait for him.
