I am the Cheshire cat that welcomes Alice in Wonderland with its diabolic smile, and chatters away as she wanders around the Château.
With a broad smile I invite you all to discover the wonderland of Versailles.”
That verse drew me in instantly and I had to know more, Who doesn’t like references to Alice In Wonderland? I have long been fascinated by anything to do with Versailles since I was a fresh design student and art is one of my other passions, second only to design so the combination proved irresistible.
See more here of the sculptural exhibition of Takashi Murakami which was on display at the famous Chateau de Versailles . I cannot wait to visit this place one day.

Art or trash? I really can’t decide. I often struggle to see the beauty in contemporary art pieces… I stare at gallery walls with my nose all scrunched up, with my head all tilted different ways to try to see what the artist is trying to convey to their audience or what story they are trying to tell… but mostly I just peer at it some more and then move on to the next piece none the wiser, always thinking ‘I could TOTALLY make that myself’. I couldn’t though.
Art of any kind always evokes a feeling and that is all that good art is meant to do isn’t it?
Modern art being shown at Versailles is nothing new, this has been going on for many years now and while I think it is a fantastic and wonderful thing I am sure many a Frenchman and art snobs would be very unhappy about this. You can see a further collection of works here.
