You know those houses that you stalk, the ones you walk past and you can’t help but slow your pace and take a sneaky peak through the fence or gate or whatever vantage point you can find to get a little bit closer to seeing what you are missing? does everyone do that…or am I just a sticky beak? Anyhow this house is one of those for me, is is located a street behind my place in Parap and is on my dogs second favourite afternoon route so I pass it at least 4 times a week. In fact if you look close enough at these images you might see me peering in through their fabulous iron front gate or my old dog Diezy peeing on the tufts of grass that adorn the roadside… which by the way attracts snakes. I would just like to point this out incase one of the Strohmayr family comes across me stalking their house and then writing about it on my blog – watch those grass tufts for snakes because your neighbour has chooks and I’m no expert but I am a Territorian and to me… chooks, next door to grass tufts = TROUBLE, trouble in the form of SNAKES! so keep an eye on that shit. Once I thought I saw one there, turns out it was a lizard but it caused me a few seconds of terror and I did that awkward ‘try to lift your legs as high as you can really quickly’ dance that you do when you see a snake… or when you THINK you see a snake. I digress, back to the troppo designed house it’s a shame there are no shots from the front as the front is really interesting, I’ll whip out my iphone next time I pass and try to get a few extra shots that may be of interest. Here it is in all its tropical simplicity:
