Architect stalking

png;base6414b82280fadd6bd9Is there anything better than stalking the homes of architects?? I am talking about the internet stalking or visiting them by invitation type of stalking, not hide in the bushes dressed in camo gear type of stalking. To me getting inside the home of a person who gets paid to design buildings or homes for a living  is the highlight of the industry that I work in so this article really made my week when I spotted it.archi home

Opening up your home to people can be daunting or it can be fun, depending on how you view it i guess. Last week I had a journalist friend and a photographer come to interview me for an upcoming publication which involved asking me some questions about being a Designer, taking a photo of me (while I was overshadowed by my dog) and then taking some photos of the favourite  things I have in the home i share with afore mentioned and newly rename “Hollywood dog” and the fella. Quick coffee & chit chat, a few laughs and an hour later-Done and dusted.  Next day when i was discussing this with friends i was surprised to hear that the thought of opening up your home to strangers or the public was horrifying to them :Z (puzzled face)  To me it is just sharing a part of what I do and what I am passionate about. Am I wrong in thinking that sharing your home is exciting? does sharing your home daunt you? are you one of those people that slave away to get your house spotless before inviting guests over ? I think that is so weird please email me to tell me more. Don’t get me wrong i do a quick tidy up of things lying around and generally remove my bra from the bathroom doorknob when i am expecting guests but it is not so important to me that i would pass up the opportunity to have people visit it if my house was a total mess.  It’s not too bad right now, but give it a afew days.

book
I bought this book a few years back for my mother whose floors are also dusty more often than shiny and who spends her spare time creating works of art instead of polishing the china collection. Books like this make me happy! so does blogging instead of mopping 😀
