Industrial design just isn’t going away is it? whilst I don’t have the kind of high ceilings with exposed beams and copper pipes type of New York loft apartment to die for, I do have quite a strong affliction for this style, probably because my little home has alot of brick so it works well for my space. I love it obsessively but ohhh how it pains me as there is that fine line that needs to be carefully tread to get it just right. If you go too heavy on the metals and chunky furniture pieces the space ends up looking like a dirty mechanics shed, but too much daintiness, add one pretty light that is not quite right or a shade of blue that is too soppy and BANG – you end up with a mismatched and confused junk yard resembling a second hand store down a dodgy alleyway. This week I have done nothing but obsess over my kitchen which blends industrial/ warehouse/ antique spanish cottage kitchen, really it’s a mish -mash that seems set to do my head in. My sink finally arrived this week- I guess that’s a plus.
Below are images that I have been pawing over, picking bits and pieces from and then artfully putting them together in my mind as to how they will (or won’t) work in my kitchen masterpiece. What of these do you like? ALL of it? all of them? yep, me too thats the whole problem.
